Setting a Use Code
The use code of an element can be used for several purposes:
- Objects which have the same material code may have a different use code. The use code data is saved into the element. The use code is also collected to the material report. The use of this function requires customization.
- You can search for a component to be changed on the grounds of the use code. When you are defining the component change rule, use the parameter COMP_USE in the search criteria.
Set the use code of an element as follows:
- Select one or more elements.
- Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
- Select Advanced > Set Use Code. The Use of Component dialog box opens.
- Do either of the following:
- Click the Next button to activate just one of the selected
elements, and continue as follows:
- Select a use code by clicking the Select button. Select Use of Component database view opens. Move the cursor on the desired row and click the OK button.
- Click the Set button.
- Click the Next button to select the next element, etc.
- Click the All button to activate all selected elements, and
continue as follows:
- Select a use code by clicking the Select button. Select Use of Component database view opens. Move the cursor on the desired row and click the OK button.
- Click the Set button.
- Click the Next button to activate just one of the selected
elements, and continue as follows:
- Click OK to close the dialog box.
Note:
- The use code options are saved in the USE database. You can add a new use code to the
database as follows:
- Add a row to the database by selecting one of the following from the database view's
menu bar:
- Edit > Add Row Before - Adds an empty row.
- Edit > Add Row Before - Adds an empty row.
- Edit > Copy Row - Copies the previously added row.
- Fill in the fields Use code and Description.
- Confirm by clicking OK.
- Add a row to the database by selecting one of the following from the database view's
menu bar:
