Delete Archived Model or Drawing

General

• NEVER delete Vertex models (*.vxm) or drawings (*.vxp) by using Windows tools if they are stored in an archive, because then the archive knows the document, but cannot find it.
• NEVER move models or drawings to other directories (to other projects) by using Windows tools. because then the archive can no longer find the moved document.
• The models and drawings in the archive are located:

  For standalone installations

  • ../vxg4/shared/picts folder, if they are not part of a project.
  • ../vxg4/shared/projects folder, in the folder corresponding to the project label, if they belong to the project.

  Server installations

  • ../vxg4_srv/shared/picts folder, if they are not part of a project.
  • ../vxg4_srv/shared/projects folder, in the folder corresponding to the project label, if they belong to the project.

Delete Archived Model or Drawing

1. Open the Browser
   • Press the B key or
   • select Archives | Documents | Open.
2. Activate the archive from which to delete.
   • Documents > Model.
   • Documents > Drawing.
3. Browse the archive folders.
4. Select the file you want to delete from the browser.
   • You can only select models or drawings to delete one at a time.
5. Select the context-sensitive function Delete Archived.
   • You will be prompted: Delete archived and all related files?
6. Answer the question
   • Yes: The model or drawing and the browser image associated with it will be deleted.
     • If you selected a model with drawings to delete, the drawings will not be deleted.
   • No: The selected drawing or model will not be deleted.

Find the document you want to delete

1. Open the Browser
   • Press the B key or
   • select Archives | Documents | Open.
2. Enter the search term in the quick search field in the upper left corner of the browser

   

3. Select Search All Fields (= arrow next to the quick search field).
4. Continue as above steps 4...6.
