Select an Element with the Selection Assistant
General
- You can use the selection assistant in a situation where there is an assembly under the cursor from which you want to select a part or subassembly.
- The selection assistant can also be used in a 2D drawing, where the cursor is over a group or 2D component and at the same time, for example, a line. In this case, instead of selecting the group or 2D component, you can select the line.
- Note that no function must be selected if you intend to use the selection assistant.
Use the selection assistant to select a part
- Move the cursor over the assembly that contains the part you want to select.
- The cursor
will first display a symbol
, followed by a mouse symbol
.

- Right-click (with a right-handed mouse).
- The program opens the selection assistant, which displays the parts and subassemblies related to the assembly.

- In the selection assistant, click the part or subassembly you want to select.
- Continue by selecting a context-sensitive function.
