Show or Hide Machining Features
General
- The geometry of a machining feature is highlighted in red color in part modeling and assembly.
- In a part model, the machining feature is visible all the time, but by default it is not shown in the model drawing.
- In the projection properties of the part model drawing, you can select the property
Machining features, in which case the machining feature will be displayed in the drawing like regular geometry.
- In an assembly, the geometry of a machining feature can be set either visible or hidden.
Hide or restore the machining feature
Pressing the M key toggles the status of the machining feature between visible (on) / hidden (off) / visualized. In the visualized mode, the surfaces created by machining are drawn in pink and are visible through the part:

Note: In the view settings of the model, you can choose the option Show machining features. See View Settings. The setting only determines the ON/OFF mode, it cannot be used to turn on the visualization of surfaces. The visualization of surfaces is only done with the M key.
Note: Also works when the system settings have the assembly_machining_method keyword set to 1 (old assembly machinings).
