Horizontal Section View Settings

Select the settings for a horizontal section view in the dialog box.

Height of the Horizontal Section
Do either of the following:
  • Enter the height of the section point in relation to the model origin in the text field (mm).
  • Click Select in 3D Model. Move the cutting surface by moving the mouse, and select the section point by clicking the primary mouse button.
View Depth
Enter the depth of the section (mm). All objects in the drawing generation model that are between the section height and the section depth are included in the section. With a section depth of 0, all objects that are in the direction towards the model origin from the section point, are included.
View Generation Model
Select the drawing generation model from the list. The drawing generation model is generated from the building model. However, not all the building components added to the building model will necessarily be included in the drawing generation model.
View Label
Enter a label for the view.
View Name
Enter a name for the view.
Horizontal Section Area
Select either of the following:
  • Entire Building - The section view is generated from the entire model.
  • Selected Limits - Click the section area with two points. In the model, the easiest way to click the limits is in a top view projection.
Update and Open View
Update the section view and open it in a drawing window. You can also update and open the view later, see Update an Individual View.
Update View Model

You can update the drawing generation model, when you have selected to update the view. Update the generation model, when you are creating the view for the first time, or when you have made changes to the building model. When you change the building model, save the model before updating the drawing generation model.

Shading Settings

The default drawing method of the view is wireframe. You can also select OpenGL shading or Lightworks shading (requires the Rendering add-on feature for the software) as the drawing method.
