Merge surfaces
The program will merge concurrent surfaces in the model into a single surface so that the border line between them disappears. For example, the cladding of the exterior walls of the first and second floors is merged into one surface.
Merge wall trims
The program will merge concurrent wall trims in the model into a single surface so that the border line between them disappears.
Solve surface intersection lines
The program will add borderlines to overlapping floors, roofs and walls. This feature is mainly intended for creating interior views.
Extract sub project as parts
The sub projects added to the model are extracted to objects when the drawing generation model is created. In this case, the windows, doors and other objects of the sub project are displayed in a view generated from the drawing generation model, for example.
Sub projects are used in the Townhouse Design, which is an add-on feature of the Vertex BD software.

Visibility by active hiding groups
The model can include hiding groups that are either hidden or visible. This property defines which hiding groups are included in the drawing generation model.
  • The check box is selected : Only objects in the displayed groups are included in the drawing generation model. Objects in the hiding groups are excluded from the drawing generation model.
  • The check box is clear : All hiding groups are included in the drawing generation model, regardless of whether they are hidden or visible.
You can set the property to be enabled or disabled by default, by editing the settings of the drawing generation model in the template project.
Coarse presentation for profiles
The profiles are presented as coarse rectangular cross sections in the drawing generation model. Profile features (machinings) are not shown at all. This way, a lighter drawing generation model can be built. This feature, together with the Update model in saving option, is intended to be used when building a drawing generation model for large steel framed projects with flats.
Update model in saving
The drawing generation model is built or updated, when you save the project. The model is not updated when the project is automatically saved. This feature, together with the Coarse presentation for profiles option, is intended to be used when building a drawing generation model for large steel framed projects with flats. In this case, the drawing generation model can be selected as the model file when adding a sub project to a main project. This requires, that the Townhouse Design add-on feature is available.
Clear model when closing project
The drawing generation model is cleared when you close the project. You cannot create views from the drawing generation model, or you cannot update views created from the model until it is rebuilt.
This feature can be utilized in a design that uses sub projects. When the drawing generation model of the main project to be opened is empty, the program automatically updates the drawing generation models of the sub-projects. The drawing generation model of the main project rebuilt after this is up-to-date.
Note: You can prevent certain type of building components to be collected in the drawing generation model by using the system settings keyword ignore_macro_types_in_elevation. Enter the building component types separated by vertical bars as the keyword value. For example, rivets, panel macros and service holes:
