Framer, Floor Framing & Rafters
Select the properties of the insulation layer to be added between the frame parts in the dialog box.
- Structure, Layer
- The program reads the data of the structural layer from the area you have selected. The thickness of the layer is displayed in the text field.
- If the thickness of the insulation layer (or the total thickness of several insulation layers) is different from the thickness of the structural layer, select the way you want to position the insulation layer in relation to the structural layer:
- Locate by top side - The top surface of the structural layer is the top surface of the uppermost insulation layer.
- Locate by bottom side - The bottom surface of the structural layer is the bottom surface of the lowest insulation layer.
- If the frame consists of I-beam structures, select how to add the insulation:
- Trim to profile side - The insulation will be added according to the profile's rectangular cross section.
- Trim to profile web - The insulation will be added according to the I-beam cross section.
- Insulation code
- You can add one or more insulation layers to the structure. Select the insulation layers in the fields of the dialog box in the order you want to add them to the structure: the insulation layer selected in the top field to the top, and so on.
- Select the insulation from the Insulation library library by clicking Sel.
- Select the insulation library and double-click the desired insulation in the browser.
- You can first narrow your search results with the column filter function. Set a filter by typing a keyword in the filter field, or click the button and select a keyword from a list. For example, to filter only insulations of a certain size, type a keyword in the filter box in the Sheet code column. Press the Enter key to filter.
- If the library does not include a suitable option for the structural layer's thickness, select a free-size option, for example Mineral wool, dimensionless. In this case, the thickness of the insulation layer is the same as the thickness of the structural layer.
- The data of the selected insulation is updated in the Insulation code and Thickness fields.
- You can define an installation gap between the insulation and the frame parts in the Edge Gap (A) field. If you selected an insulation with the length of the insulation sheet set in the insulation library, you can also define the installation gap to be left between the ends of the sheets in the Seam Gap (B) field.
- You can remove an insulation layer by clicking None on the row of the desired insulation.
