Parametric Building Model
In a parametric building model, building components are bound to each other with geometric constraints and height levels. When you move one building component, the other components bound to it will follow the change. The building model can be parametric in both the XY plane and vertically.
- Parametricity is controlled with geometric constraints in the XY plane. For example, you can define distance constraints in the floor plan, determining the relative positions of the building components.
- In the vertical direction, parametricity is controlled with height levels. When you move a height level, the building components constrained to it will be moved along or their height will change.
Use parametric walls in the design. Add the walls and other building components to their approximately correct locations and position them accurately at a later time using geometric constraints.
Note:
- You cannot move building components fixed with constraints by their grip points.
