Edit the Additional Materials Library
Architectural, Framer
The additional materials are defined in a library. You can edit the library for additional materials in the following way:
- Select System | BOM Additional Materials.
- In the database view, do one of the following:
- Edit the properties of an existing material:
- Move the cursor on the row of the material to be edited.
- Click the Attributes button.
- Edit the additional material properties.
Additional material properties
- Click the Line Properties button.
- Edit the line geometric properties.

- Create a new material, for example by copying an existing row:
- Move the cursor on the row to be copied.
- Click the Copy button.
- Type the name of the new additional material in a text box.
- Select the properties of the material with the Attributes
button.

- Edit the properties of an existing material:
- Confirm by clicking OK.
- System tab is only available if you are a system administrator.
Additional material properties
The additional material properties area defined in a database of their own. The properties determine the components of the additional material. The database determines the material codes, the rules for calculating the material quantity and the units. The data of the additional material added to the drawing-model pair of a building is collected in the material register in accordance with what is determined in the material properties.
Example 1: Additional lineal material
Railing
Material Code | Quantity | Unit |
BOTTOM_BAR | L | m |
BALUSTER | 2 | pcs |
END_PIECE | (L/1000)*5 | pcs |
TOP_BAR | L | m |
If 3 m of the above railing material is added to the floor plan drawing, the program will collect in the material register 3 m of the top bar, 3 m of the bottom bar, two end pieces and 15 balusters.
Example 2: Additional area material
Swimming pool
Material Code | Quantity | Unit |
POOL_BOTTOM | A | m² |
DRAIN | 1 | pcs |
If the above swimming pool material is added to the floor plan drawing on an area sized 4 m x 4 m, the program will collect in the material register 16 m² of pool bottom and one drain.
- In addition, you can define the name of the building data card field into which the area of
the additional area material is stored when the building is saved. Type the name of the field
in the field PROREG Save Field in the Material Definition database
view. The name of the field could be one of the following, for example:
- SQM
- TOTALSQM
The use of this property requires that you have knowledge of Vertex databases.
Line geometric properties
The default values for the drawing property set of the line representing an additional material is defined in the system settings with the MATLINE line name. You can edit the properties in the Line Geometric Properties dialog box. The editable properties in the dialog box are Line font, Layer, Pen and Scale (line spacing). Select the property values from the lists.
