Window and Door Sheets to DesignStream
Architectural + DesignStream Interface + Material XML Transfer
You can create opening sheets and export them into the DesignStream system. The function requires that you are logged in to the DesignStream system and that the Quantity Surveying add-on option is enabled. You can export opening sheets from a building that you have opened in DesignStream. At the same time, the material data of the building is transferred into the system in the component list (Material XML Transfer add-on option of the Vertex BD software).
Select Output | Order Forms | Window/Door Window/Door Sheets To DesignStream.
The program will collect windows and doors from every drawing-model pair of the building, and add sheet labels for them to the floor plan on a specific layer. The label format is as follows: PREFIX-NUMBER (UNIQUE NUMBER), for example, W-2 (5). The prefix depends on the numbering system, which is defined in the settings, see Window and Door Sheet Settings. The number following the prefix is the same for openings of the same type. The number in parentheses is a unique running number added for each opening. It is used to differentiate between identical openings in the DesignStream system.
The program will create an opening sheet for each different opening. The sheets are saved under the building in the Opngs folder. The program will export the sheets into the DesignStream system automatically. The sheets only present the geometry of the opening. The other data is added in the DesignStream system.
When a building is open, you can open a sheet in the building folder by using the function Open a Window or Door Sheet, or by double-clicking a sheet name in the building document browser. The sheets can be found in the building document browser under Architectural documents / Openings.
If the walls of the building are paneled and the panel drawings have been created, the program will prompt you to update the panel drawings once the opening sheet labels have been added. The program will always prompt you to update the panel drawings upon changes to the opening sheet labels. Select either of the following:
- Yes - The program updates the panel drawings.
- No - The panel drawings are not updated, but their labels are marked with an asterisk in the floor plan to indicate changes.
- The function will delete labels that have been added previously.
- The function will not add a window or door list in the floor plan.
- This function is not available if you are not logged in to the DesignStream system. In this case, the function Window and Door Sheets to a Local Building Archive can be used.
- The viewing direction of the openings, the numbering system and the label properties are defined in a setup file, see Window and Door Sheet Settings.
