Piece Schedule Parameters

Framer

In the dialog box, select the profile labels, profile schedule and profile drawings to be added in the floor plan drawing of the building. Select the tasks to be performed by selecting the LABELS, SCHEDULE or DRAWINGS check box.

LABELS

Add
Add labels by selecting the radio button. Pieces with the same material, cross section and length receive the same label. Similar pieces receive different labels, if a different use purpose has been defined for them.
Delete
Remove labels by selecting the radio button.
Base Location
If you move labels in the drawing from the grip point or by using a text editing function, the labels will be moved on the locations defined in the settings when you regenerate the labels.
Current Location
If you move labels in the drawing from the grip point or by using a text editing function, you can retain the location of the labels when regenerating them by selecting the Current Location radio button.
Check Overlapping Labels
If the labels are on their Base Location, you can switch on the label interference checking by selecting the check box Check Overlapping Labels. In addition, select either of the following:
  • Check New - Only the new labels (which are now added) will be checked.
  • Check All - All labels will be checked.
System
As a default, the label of each volume consists of a prefix and a running number. You can select the prefix by selecting the appropriate option from the System list:
  • LIBRARY - The prefix is the basic label of the profile library, for example L = lumber.
  • USE - The prefix is the initial of the profile's intended use, for example J = joist.
  • PARENT - The prefix is the panel label of a floor or roof panel.
Instead of the running number, you can add the stock length at the end of the label.
Stock Length to the Piece Label, Group Labels
The default labeling system is defined in the BDSXX keyword group with the pce_schedule= LABEL.SYS keyword.
Alternatively, you can type any character string in the field within quotation marks, e.g. "Piece".
View
The appearance of the label and the properties of the basic geometry elements (texts, lines, hatches) used in the label are defined in the label's drawing file. The label library and the label's drawing file to be used are defined in the system settings.

SCHEDULE

Add
Add schedules by selecting the radio button.
Delete
Remove schedules by selecting the radio button.
Shape
The data to be included in the schedule and its format are defined in a format file that you can select from the Format list.
If you have selected a floor joist labeling system, which adds the stock length to the piece label, you can select the schedule format from two options offered by the software developer:
  • flr_jst_schdl - The entire piece label is displayed in the schedule.
  • flr_jst_schdl_g - Only prefix of the piece label is displayed in the schedule.
View
The method of representation determines the drawing layer, font, color, etc. of the schedule. The alternatives are read from the GEOMPROP in the system settings.

DRAWINGS

Add
Create drawing files of all profiles with different labels. You cannot create drawings without the piece labels.
Delete
Remove drawing files from the folder determined in the File folder field.
This will only remove the files that have been named in accordance with the current piece labels and drawing prefix in the dialog box. If there are drawings in the folder that have been created previously, and have been given different names, you can delete these by selecting the Delete Old Drawings check box.
File Folder
The folder in the building folder where the drawing files of pieces are saved. If the building id is, for example, Building_1 and the folder typed in the File folder field is Pieces, the files will be saved in the folder ../shared/projects/Building_1/pieces. If the folder does not exist, the program will create it automatically.
Prefix
The drawing files are named by using the contents of the Prefix field at the beginning of the name, followed by the label, for example FJOIST.R1.vxp. You can type any character string as the prefix by typing it within quotation marks.
Drawing template
The drawings are created either by using an application development program or on an existing template. The name of the application development program is displayed in the Drawing Template field. If the application development program is not available, a drawing file with the same name is used as a template. The template drawing is located in the ../custom/picts or ../system/picts folder.
Filter perpendicular cut pieces
Select the check box when you do not wish to create drawings of simple, straight pieces without sawing or notching. In addition, you can select the following:
  • Allow one cut in main direction - Part drawings will not be formed of parts with a maximum of one saw cut in the main direction.
  • Allow one notch in main direction - Part drawings will not be formed of parts with a maximum of one notch in the main direction.
Delete Old Drawings
When you select the radio button Remove, the program will only remove the drawing files that have been named in accordance with the current labels and drawing prefix in the dialog box. If there are drawings in the folder that have been created previously, and have been given different names, you can delete these by selecting the Delete Old Drawings check box.
Note:
  • You can open the part drawings from the building's document browser. The part drawings are located in the Structural drawings branch.
  • If several profiles are presented in one drawing, they can be organized on the sheet by either label, code or length. The rule is set in the system settings in the pce_schedule_set definition of the piece type in question:
    pce_schedule
    PCPIC.SORT [sorting fields]

    For example

    pce_schedule
    PCPIC.SORT LENGTH|CODE|LABEL
