Building-specific Layer Settings

You can select to use building-specific layer settings instead of the default layer scheme. The settings are saved in a building-specific component library. You can disable the building-specific settings by re-enabling the default layers of the system. In this case, the component library folder is deleted from the building folder.

  1. Open the building's document browser.
  2. Open Settings > Design settings.
  3. Double-click Default layers.
  4. Do either of the following:
    • Use system layers as default - The building-specific layer settings are disabled, and the component library folder complibs/vxlayer-schemes_proj is deleted from the building folder.
    • Use building-specific layers as default - Set the desired layers by clicking Edit building-specific layers. Edit the layers in the same way as the layers in the default layer scheme. The settings are saved in the building-specific component library complibs/vxlayer_schemes-proj folder.
  5. Select Update layers in existing drawings to load the selected default layer scheme (system layers or building-specific layers) into all building’s drawings. The layer names, visibility and layer groups are updated to the building’s drawings.
  6. Confirm the updating of the building's drawings by clicking Yes.
Note: Selecting Update layers in existing drawings corresponds to the function Restore Default Layer Scheme for the Entire Project, but to switch from building-specific layers back to system default levels, you must perform the update with this Default layers function in the building document browser.
