Text Associativity (2D)

You can associate a text in a drawing with a line, hatch or symbol selected from the drawing. You can also change or delete the associativity of a text.

Associativity affects the text as follows:

• When a text is associated with an element, the deletion of the element also deletes the associated text.
• If you move the associated element, the text will not move with the element.

Adding Associativity

1. Select the text.
2. Select Properties | Properties | Associativity.
3. Select one of the following as an associative element:
   • Line
   • Hatch
   • Symbol

Changing or Deleting Associativity

1. Select the text.

   If the text has associativity, Properties | Properties | Associativity is selected.

2. Clear Associativity.

   If you wish to change the associated element, reselect Associativity, and select a new element from the drawing.

Note

• When the software is in basic mode and you select a text from the drawing, you can see with which element the selected text is associated. The associative element is highlighted in color, if the color marking is enabled.
