Default Room Properties

When you are using the Vertex BD Architectural or Pro product, you can add a color fill or a hatch to the room. You can select a space object from the space library, whose properties will be set for the room. These default properties are defined in the ROOMS database. You can edit the default properties as follows:

  1. Select System | Libraries | Rooms.

    The Rooms database view opens.

  2. Move the cursor on the desired row.
  3. Edit the default values.
    1. Edit the name of a room.
    2. Click the arrow button on the right side of the Color column, and select a color in the dialog box.

    3. Click the arrow button on the right side of the Hatch properties column, and select a hatch in the Hatch geometric properties dialog box.
      1. Select Room hatch as the property set. The other fields will be refreshed according to the property set.
      2. Select the hatch from the Type list.
      3. Edit the other properties, if necessary.
        • To select the hatch color, click the Color button. RGB Color
        • Select the properties Layer, Pen and Scale.
      4. Confirm by clicking OK.
    4. Select the space object whose properties you want to set for the room by default. Click the arrow button on the right side of the Space column to open the library browser.
      1. In the browser, select a library of the desired type. The library can be a standard system library or your own library.
      2. Double-click the space thumbnail in the right-hand browser pane.
  4. Confirm by clicking OK.
Note:
  • The color fill is added to layer 56.
  • The changes you have made will take effect in the room definitions you will make from now on.
  • System tab is only available if you are a system administrator.
  • If the ROOMS database determines a pen color to be used, select the color in the Color Selection dialog box. See Pen Color.
