Define Coordinates
You can define the exact coordinates of a point from the keyboard. When you press a number key, a dialog box opens in which you can type the coordinates. Define the coordinates of the point as numbers in the dialog box.
- Separate the coordinates from each other with a comma (,) or by pressing the Tab key.
- Separate the decimals by a period (.).
- You can also type calculations. The available calculations are addition (+), subtraction (-), division (/) and multiplication (*).
- When the cursor is locked, you can also enter the distance in a unit other than the default unit, see Enter the Distance in Different Units.
The coordinates are defined relative to a reference point. The reference point can be one of the following:
- The previous point or the local origin. Select From last point. From last point.
- The absolute origin. Select Global coordinates. Global coordinates.
- Any reference point that you can click in the drawing or model. Select Select reference point. Select reference point.

- X
- Defines the x coordinate relative to the reference point. You can select the last value you typed from the list. If the coordinate is 0, you can leave the field empty.
- Y
- Defines the y coordinate relative to the reference point. You can select the last value you typed from the list. If the coordinate is 0, you can leave the field empty.
- Z
- Defined only in the model window. Defines the z coordinate relative to the reference point. You can select the last value you typed from the list. If the coordinate is 0, you can leave the field empty.
- Angle
- Defines the viewing angle. In the drawing window, the viewing angle is always defined around the Z axis.
- Distance
- Defines the distance of a point from the reference point. You can type the distance with an angle, for example.
