Identical Constraint in a Model Sketch
The constraint Identical is automatically added when you copy a line, curve or face silhouette lines from the existing geometry of a model onto a planar sketch, or when you copy a line or a curve onto a 3D sketch.
You can delete the Identical constraint, but the associativity with the original line will then be lost.
Note:
- If you select an identical line for trimming, the program will copy the line and change the type of the identical line into a reference line. The required coincident constraints are created automatically for the copied and identical lines. In practice, trimming is performed on the copied line.
This makes it possible to use the trimming functions, even on silhouette lines projected onto the sketching plane, and external references also work.
