Save Model Drawings as a PDF File

Print drawings of a part, assembly, its single or several parts and/or subassembly to a PDF file or separate PDF files. If necessary, you can select the drawings to be printed. Print as a PDF file as follows:

  1. Select a part, subassembly or main assembly from the feature or assembly tree.
    • You can select more than one part or subassembly at once by pressing and holding the Ctrl key.
  2. Select the context-sensitive function Other ExportsBatch plot.
  3. Select saving as PDF file Pdf.
  4. Select Pdf-setup... to define the printer settings.
  5. Define the data in the Printer Settings dialog box.
    • If you want to save all drawings as separate PDF files, select PDF_SEPARATE in the Printer field.
  6. Click the button Browse to select the saving location of the PDF file.
    • If you selected PDF_SEPARATE, select a folder into which all files are saved.
  7. Define the printed drawings by selecting one of the following:
    • Click the Selected Item button to print the drawings of the selected part or assembly.
    • Click the Selected Item + Lover level button to print the drawings of the selected part/assembly and the parts/assemblies on the next layer.
    • Click the Selected Item Subtree button to print the drawings of the selected part and all of its layers.
  8. If necessary, select one of the following:
    • Select the Update checkbox to have the geometries of the drawings updated to match the models before printing.
    • Select the Special choice on checkbox to select which drawings to print according to the definitions. When you click the Special choice button, you can enter search terms in the fields as the search criteria to select drawings to be printed of all drawings of a model.
  9. Select OK.
  10. If necessary, you can add a label to all drawings. For example, you can enter a work number as a label. The label text is added to all drawings. The label is located on the left middle of the drawing.
