Copy an Old Material and Edit Shading Properties

You can create a new material by copying an old material from the library. You can then paste the material to your own library. Once you have named the new material, it is displayed as an image in the library. You can then select the material from the library and edit its properties.

  1. Select the part and the context-sensitive function Rendering> Edit Rendering Material.
  2. Open the browser folder from which you want to copy the old material.
  3. Click the material with the left mouse button.
  4. Right-click to open the function menu.
  5. Select Copy.
  6. Open the browser’s Shared folder for creating your own material. In the basic software delivery, there is a subfolder called Materials in the Shared folder.
  7. Select the Materials folder, or any folder under it in which you want to save the material, or create a new folder in the following way:
    1. Select the Materials folder, or any folder under it.
    2. Right-click to open the function menu.
    3. Select Create new folder.
    4. Enter a name for the new folder.
    5. Select the folder you have just created.
  8. Right-click to open the function menu.
  9. Select the Attach function.
  10. Name the new material. Once you have named the material, an image of the material and its name are displayed in the browser.
  11. Select the new material in the browser.
  12. Right-click to open the function menu.
  13. Select Edit.
  14. You can edit material properties in the Edit Material dialog box.
  15. Select OK.
