Expand Layers
Architectural, Framer
When you add a horizontal structure to a building, its representation in the 3D model is a packed basic volume. You can change the method of representation to detailed representation by expanding the different layers of the structure visible in the 3D model. The program illustrates the layers with different colors in the shaded model. After this, the structural layers can be selected individually for editing, moving or removing.
- Select the horizontal structure.
- Do either of the following:
- Select Plane Structure | Volume | Expand.
- Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu, and select Expand Layers.
Note
- You can restore the packed basic volume method of representation with the Pack Layers function.
- You can select the layers belonging to the basic volume by editing the properties of the structure - see Edit Structure Properties.
-
If a structural layer has been added to the top or bottom surface of the structure with the Adding a Layer to an Area function, the program asks you to confirm the expanding of layers.
- If the expanded roof cover layers are not correctly refreshed when you edit a parametric building model, pack the layers and expand them again.
