Check-In to DesignStream

DesignStream Interface

The dialog box opens in the following cases:

Dialog Box Options

Check-In
When you are checking in an edited project to the DesignStream system, select the check-in method:
  • Overwrite existing version - When you select this option, the edited project will replace the old one. The project always replaces the latest version regardless of the version that has been opened.
  • Create a new version - When you select this option, a new version of the project will be created. The DesignStream system determines the version number. Version numbering can be used to manage the change data and the service life of the project in the DesignStream system.
Type a description in the Check-In comment field.
Check-In details
Using this feature requires that the DesignStream detail library is available. If you have added details from the DesignStream detail library to the project and have ticked the checkbox while checking in the project to DesignStream, the detail cards of the details in question will be linked to the project. The project metadata shows the connection to a detail card, and the detail card shows a connection to the project.
Update the Component List
Collect the building component quantity data and export it to the DesignStream system for estimating and quantity surveying. The quantity data is based on the building component typing: each building component has a type. The Finnish Talo 2000 classification system was taken into account in defining the types. The quantity data is exported from the Vertex BD software in XML format, to the components.xml file. In the DesignStream system, the quantity data is converted to the product structure using filters. Handling quantity data requires the Quantity Surveying or the Estimating add-on feature in the DesignStream system.
Check-In Sub Projects
If you have used sub projects in the design, you can check them in to the DesignStream system together with the main project. The sub projects are linked to the main project, and they will be shown in the project’s structure tree in the DesignStream system.
When you check-in a modified main project, and select Check-In Sub Projects, all the changed sub projects are checked in, and the unchanged sub projects are released in the DesignStream system.
When the check box is clear, all the sub projects are released in the DesignStream system.
Sub projects are used in the Townhouse Design, which is an add-on feature of the Vertex BD software.
