Create a New Library in the Browser

Open the library browser by selecting System | Libraries | Libraries.

There are two ways to create a library in the library browser:
  • Create a new empty library.
  • Select a set of components and copy them to a new library.

Create a new empty library

  1. In the browser, select a library of the desired type. The library can be a standard system library or your own library.
  2. Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
  3. Select Create New Library.
  4. Type a description for the library.

The new library appears in a sub folder of the selected library type in the browser's Custom Libraries main folder. You can add components to a library by copying components from another library of the same type.

Copy components to a new library

  1. In the browser, select a library of the desired type. The library can be a standard system library or your own library.
  2. Select one or more components in the right side browser pane.
  3. Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
  4. Select Copy to New Library.
  5. Type a description for the library.

The new library appears in a sub folder of the selected library type in the browser's Custom Libraries main folder. The copied components appear in the right side browser pane.

Note:
  • The program automatically generates the name of the library folder on the disk.
  • System tab is only available if you are a system administrator.
