Generate Cladding
Framer, Floor Framing & Rafters
You can generate boarding or cladding on a layer for which the Cladding framing tool has been selected.
- Select a structure and a layer.
Select a Structure and a Layer
If you want to add parts to all the layers in the structure (frame, sheathing, boarding) which have a framing tool, select only the structure.
- Do either of the following:
- Select Plane Structure | Framing | Generate Parts.
- Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu, and select Generate Parts.
The program will create the 3D geometry of the cladding in the framing model FRAMING.vxm. By default, cladding is generated so that its origin point is in the lower left corner when seen from a projection above the horizontal structure. The origin point is the point from which the spacing is started. The boards are aligned by default in the direction of the riser in a sloping structure and the direction of the Y axis in a non-sloping structure.
Note
- You can change the base point and direction of the cladding by selecting Panel | Framing | Framing Gallery Define Base Point.
- You can also define cladding for a horizontal structure panel. The layers of the structure do not need to be expanded then.
- You can also define cladding for the siding layer of a wall panel.
