Define a Sheathing Base Point
Framer, Floor Framing & Rafters
You can divide sheathing into fields, add origin points into a field and change the direction of the sheathing. One sheathing field may contain only one origin point. The origin point determines the starting point of the sheathing. Before defining the origin point, you need to select detailed representation for the structure by using the Expand Layers function.
When sheathing is divided into fields, the program will add a default origin point to each field.
The program will mark the directions and locations of all current origin points in the sheathing. At this point you can use the context-sensitive menu functions to edit the fields or origin points.
Dividing Sheathing Into Fields

Note
- When you have edited the sheathing fields, you can also update the sheathing by selecting Add Sheathing.
Example
In figure (A) below, sheathing has been created for a horizontal structure with an opening. The default origin point is in the lower left corner of the horizontal structure. Add a new origin point to the sheathing. Select the upper right corner of the sheet as the reference point of the origin sheet. In figure (B), the reference point is set to the intersection of the edge line of the opening and the top edge of an existing sheet. Figure (C) shows the refreshed sheathing.
