Define the data of the detail to be formed from an active drawing in a database view.

Dialog Box Options

Detail
A unique detail label, which can consist of letters and numbers. Maximum length 16 characters. You can also add the label into the detail's drawing file, see Draw a Detail.
Display label
The detail's label in plain language. When you add the detail to the floor plan, you can select a symbol as its presentation method, and select the option SYM_DISPLAYID from the list. In this case, the detail's display label is shown on the floor plan. You can also add the display label into the detail's drawing file, see Draw a Detail.
Description
The description of the detail in default language. When you add the detail to the floor plan, the description is displayed in the list from which you can select the detail to be added.
Description [language]
If you need multilingual details, type the detail descriptions in other languages in their own text fields. Multilingual description texts can be utilized, when the detail archive is in the DesignStream system.
Scale
Enter the scale to be used when generating detail sheets. Enter the scale in the 1/x format.
Layer
Enter the number of the layer (0-255) to be used when adding the detail to the building's floor plan drawing with the property Use detail layer selected.
If you do not define a layer, the detail will be added in the layer in which it was drawn.
File
Enter the detail's drawing file name. The program will automatically save the file and add the extension .vxp to the file name.
Detail archive
Enter the name of the archive folder to which the detail is to be added. You can type the name of the folder in the field, or select an existing folder from the list. If the archive folder does not exist, the program will create it automatically.
When you close the database view by clicking OK, you can select the detail’s saving location. New details are normally saved in the detail archive located in the custom folder. If the drawing of which the detail is created belongs to a building, you can choose the building folder as the saving location. Details drawn in a separate drawing window will always be saved in the detail archive in the custom/detbook folder.
If you want to make a symbol of the drawing, type Symbols in the field.
Sheet program
You can also create a detail of a DWG, DOC or PDF file, for example - see Details Using Other File Formats. A customer-specific application development program can be created for managing such details. The program can be used, for example, to copy the file from the custom folder to the building folder when the building details are collected using the function Collect Details And Generate Detail Sheets.
Enter the name of the application development program in the field. The program should be located in the ../custom/macros/triggers directory.
Detail add ins
A detail can include other details. For example, the joint detail between a wall and a deck can include both the detail of the wall structure and the detail of the floor structure. When the joint detail of the deck is added to the building, the wall and floor structure details are also added. All these details are collected when you collect the building details using the function Collect Details And Generate Detail Sheets.
Enter the labels of the details to be included in the detail, separated by the vertical bar character, for example Det_1|Det_2.
Edge type, Filters
This feature is related to the automatically added details used in the floor or roof framings.
If you want the detail to be used at a framing line, select the framing line from the Edge type list. With the Filters button, you can define the locations in which the details can be used. For example, edge at framing direction, edge at perpendicular to framing direction, opening edge, etc.
Automatic details are added by using the function Automatic Details. When you select the function, the program goes through the structure's edges and the connections to the other building components. Detail options suitable for the conditions are opened in a dialog box, in which you can select the detail.
Parameters
This feature is related to the automatically added details used in the floor or roof framings. If necessary, add a reference to the detail defined in the framing database to the Parameters field.
