Merge Structures
With this function, you can merge horizontal structures and floor, roof or wall panels. Things to note when merging structures:
- When merging structures whose basic layers have varying materials, the program prompts you to confirm the merge.
- When merging individual structural layers (other than basic layers), the material of the layers must match.
- The horizontal structures must have the same elevation.
- The horizontal structures must cut each other.
- When combining wall panels, the edges of the panels must join together.
The selected structures are combined into a single structure, which can be managed with other horizontal structure functions.
- Select the structures with the Ctrl key pressed down.
- Do either of the following:
- Select Plane Structure | Volume | Merge.
- Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu, and select Merge.
-
When merging structures whose basic layers have varying materials, the program prompts you to confirm the merge.
Note:
- You can use this function to reunite a structure that has been cut with the function Cut an Area.
- You can use the function to merge two or more wall panels into a single panel. If one of the panels is an exterior wall panel, the merged panel will also be one.
- When merging wall panels, the openings and electrical symbols will be automatically inherited by the merged panels.
