Creating an XML Transfer File of Materials

You can create an XML file of the building materials. If you are using the DesignStream Interface add-on option, the file will be transferred into the DesignStream system when the building is checked in. You can utilize the XML file in the DesignStream system in tender calculations, for example.

1. Select Output | Materials | Collect > XML.

   The program will collect all materials in the building in a components.xml file and save the file in the building folder.

2. Save the building by pressing Ctrl+S, and the building document browser is updated. You can open the file for viewing from the document browser. Open the Reports branch in the document browser, and double-click the name of the file. The file is opened in the application associated with the XML file extension.
3. If the DesignStream add-on option is available to you, export the building to the DesignStream system.
