Check in a Building to the DesignStream System

DesignStream Interface

Once you have finished editing a building you have checked out from the DesignStream system, restore the changes to the DesignStream server in the following way:

  1. Save the building in either of the following ways:
    • Select > Save Building.
    • Press Ctrl+S.
  2. Select > Close Building. The Close Building dialog box opens.
  3. Select the radiobutton Check-In to DesignStream. The Check-in to DesignStream dialog box opens.
  4. Select the check-in method of the building and the publishing method of the documents in the dialog box.
    • Overwrite existing version - When you select this option, the edited building will replace the old one.
Note: The building always replaces the latest version regardless of the version that has been opened.
    • Create a new version - When you select this option, a new version of the building will be created. The DesignStream system determines the version number. Version numbering can be used to manage the change data and the service life of the building in the DesignStream system.
    • Type a description in the Check-In comment field.

  5. Confirm by clicking OK.
  6. Click the Close button.
  7. If you selected the interactive publishing of documents (the Publisher add-on option), you can select which documents of the building you want to publish in the DesignStream system in the Publisher dialog box.

    Publisher

Click Publish to close the dialog box.

Note:
  • The building is compressed into a ZIP file and exported to the DesignStream system. The building will be removed from the local building archive. If the building export is not successful for some reason (for example the network connection is down), the building will not be removed from the local archive.
