2D/3D Presentation
Building components have both 2D and 3D geometries. The geometry can be displayed in the drawing or the model of a drawing-model pair or in both of them at the same time. If it is possible to select the visibility of geometry, you can do it when adding a building component using the functions in the auxiliary menu. As a default, a building component is visible in both the drawing and the model.

- Representation in 3D Model
You can use the functions in the context-sensitive menu to change the visibility of a building component that has already been added.
Hiding Geometry from a Model
- Select the components in the model.
- Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
- Select Presentation > 2D only.
Hiding Geometry from a Drawing
- Select the components in the drawing.
- Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
- Select Presentation > 3D only.
Restoring the Visibility of Geometry in Both the Drawing And the Model
- Select the building components in the working window where their geometry is visible.
- Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
- Select Presentation > 2D and 3D.
Note:
- You can also hide building components from the drawing/model in the following ways:
- Create a hiding group of the components, see Create a Hiding Group.
- Hide all the components of the desired object type, see Hide Objects by Type.
- Select the components to be displayed in the model regardless of the object type and hide the rest, see Hide Unselected Objects.
- Hide the selected components in the model, see Hide a Selected Object.
- If the building component only has a 2D or a 3D geometry, the presentation method cannot be changed.
- You can also select the visibility when adding a profile, in the dialog box where you select the profile properties (included in the Vertex BD Architectural product).
