Edit Option Data
Option System
You can add or edit information of an existing option in the floor plan. When you edit the information of an option in the Options database, for example change the Option Id of an option, you can refresh the changes to the option box in the floor plan by editing the option data. You can also use this function to define optionalized objects.
Edit the Option Conditions
- Select Options | Advanced Options | Edit Option Data.
- Select the option box by clicking the option id in the upper left corner of the option box. The option box becomes highlighted in color.
- Edit the option conditions in the Option Condition for Components in Option Box dialog
box. For example:
- Remove the existing Option Id from the text field and select another one from the Options database
- Change the conditions between options
- Change the descriptions
- Turn on/off the visibility of components
- Change the selection of elements to be merged during the option solving process.
Define Optionalized Objects
If you want to change the number of openings or other components on the floor plan, or if you want to change the wall type of walls, you don’t have to define a new elevation option for each case. With the option data editing tool, you can optionalize following objects:
- Openings and opening trims
- Wall type of walls
- Building component assemblies
- Profiles
- Details
- Basic geometric elements like texts and lines
You can define following conditions for the selected object:
- The object will be added when the option conditions come true.
- The object will be moved to another location when the option conditions come true.
- The object will be deleted when the option conditions come true.
- The alternative wall type will be used when the option conditions come true.
- The alternative opening trims will be used when the option conditions come true.
Define the optionalized objects as follows:
- Select Options | Advanced Options | Edit Option Data.
- Select the object and then select the option conditions in a dialog box.
- Select a window or a door.
- Select a wall.
- Select a building component assembly.
- Select a profile.
- Select a detail or a basic geometric element
- Before you can select building components, you must first create an assembly of them, see Create an Assembly.
- You can only select one object at a time. Select the option conditions for all the desired objects one by one. You can later change the conditions with the same function.
- The optional objects will be added or removed when you solve the options.
- The selected object can be placed any where in the floor plan. It is not necessary for the object to be associated to any of the option boxes in the floor plan.
- You can add a note telling which option condition is associated to an object in the floor plan drawing, see Show Options in a Drawing.
