Setting up Height Options
Option System
Use this function to set up optional building heights, for example room height or floor thickness. The heights to be changed and the effects to the building components depend on your software customization.
The default heights of building components are defined in the building parameters. When the height option is solved, the program changes the appropriate building parameters. The program calculates the new parameter values by running an application development program Parameters.hnd in the building folder. This program can be customized to meet the specific requirements of your company. One of the subjects to be customized is the effect to the height of windows, for example. When the height of the exterior walls is changed, the windows on the walls may remain at their original height or they can be moved according to the change of the wall height.
The basic delivery of the software includes a functionality to change the room height and/or floor thickness. When the room height is changed, the height of the following components will be changed:
- Height of exterior walls
- Height of interior walls
- Length of columns
- Elevation of beams
The windows will not be moved when the room height is changed.
- Select Options | Advanced Options | Heights.
- Define the height option in the Set Up Height Options database view.
- The heights will be changed when you solve the option. The height option will not be processed when you use the Test Options function.
