Begin Routing from a Component
Piping Design
You can select a component grip point as the starting point for a pipe or duct line. Please note the cursor snap to the grip point in floor plan (A) and model (B):
Information on what kind of pipe or duct can be started from the point, and in which direction, has been stored in the grip point. The blue arrow of the grip point indicates the default sweep direction. Once the point has been selected, the properties of the pipe or duct are updated to match this information.
The auxiliary function Lock to handle direction is on by default when indicating the starting point. This means that the direction determined by the grip point is automatically selected as the sweep direction. The cursor is locked in this direction, and you can click the subsequent point.
If the auxiliary function is off, you can freely select the sweep direction.
If the sweep direction is down and you indicate the starting point in the floor plan, the program will prompt you for the height position of the subsequent point in the dialog box.
Enter Height Position in the Dialog Box
- The existence of a grip point requires that a reference point macro has been added for it when modeling the component. Components are modeled with the 3D modeler.
