Details Using Other File Formats
In addition to a Vertex 2D drawing, you can create a detail using a DWG, DOC or PDF file, for example. Move or copy the file to the desired detail archive folder, which can be located in the building folder or in the custom/detbook folder.
Open the d_DETAILS database from the ../detbook/dbases folder for editing. The easiest way to open the database in Vertex BD is to drag and drop it.
Add a row to the database by selecting Edit > Add Row Before or Edit > Add Row After. Fill in the detail information as when creating a detail from a Vertex 2D drawing, see Detail Data. Enter the full name of the file in the File field, including the file extension, for example "detail.dwg". Enter the archive where the file has been copied in the Detail archive field.
- A detail created of a file format other than Vertex 2D drawing can only be added to the building's drawing as a symbol. When you add detail, in the Select Detail dialog box, select Symbol as the representation for the detail.
