Add a Hole Using Points
You can add a hole to a structure. The hole can go through the entire structure or it can be added only to the selected layer. The same hole can cut several structures located side by side. The structure can be a floor, roof, panel or space.
- Select a structure and a layer, if necessary.
- Do one of the following:
- Select Plane Structure | Volume |
Hole.
- Select Space | Volume |
Hole.
- Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu, and select
Create Hole.
- Select Plane Structure | Volume |
- In the case of a sloping structure, select, if the points are to be projected to the top or bottom surface of the structure.
Measure height to top - The edge points are projected to the top surface of the structure.
Measure height to bottom - The edge points are projected to the bottom surface of the structure.
- In the case of a sloping structure, select perpendicular or vertical edges to the hole.
Perpendicular edge - The edge direction is perpendicular to the structure.
Vertical edge - The edges are vertical.
- Click the corner points of the hole. You can add a rectangular hole by clicking 2 points: the start and end point of the hole diagonal. In the model, you can first select wire frame as the method of configuration, in which case it is easier to select points of the model. The selected points are projected either to the top or bottom surface of the structure. The edge points can be located outside the structure and the line chain, which they form, can run across several horizontal structures.
- Select Confirm.
Note:
- You can delete a hole from the structure by deleting its edge points.
