Set the Custom-specific Environment in Use

The Vertex Sync administrator can upload a custom environment (custom and shared/lw folders) from their disk to Vertex Sync, after which other users can enable the environment in Vertex BD. The administrator can also update changes made to the environment to the Sync service, after which other users can download and activate the latest environment.

Deploy the customer-specific environment in Sync as follows:

  1. Select Archives | Sync | Environments. The Environments dialog box opens. The list shows all environments available to the organization.
    • If you have previously deployed an environment, the active environment will be marked Active in the Status column.
    • There may be several revisions of the environment in the Sync service. The revision in use is marked Currently in use in the Status column.
  2. Select the environment from the list.
  3. Click Set.

A window opens in the lower-right corner of the screen to display the progress of the download. You can continue to work during the download. When the download is complete, the message "You may now close this window" appears in the window.

  4. Once the environment has been downloaded, you will receive a message: "Environment was successfully moved. The application will now be restarted." Confirm by clicking OK. The program backs up the active environment.
  5. You will be prompted: “New environment “[name and revision of environment]” successfully applied! The application will now restart."
  6. Confirm by clicking OK.
  7. Wait until the program starts.

The active environment and its revision are displayed in the program's status bar next to the organization and username:
