Set the data of the component group to be added to the component library in the Create Building Group dialog box.
Dialog Box Options
- Building group name
- Type the name of the group in the text field.
- Path in browser
- Define the folder from which the group can be selected in the browser. Do either of the following:
- Select an already existing folder in the browser
- Click the
button. The browser is opened.
- Select a browser folder by clicking the right mouse button.
- Select Select folder.
- Create a new folder in the browser. Type the name of the folder in the text field in format /folder/ or /folder/subfolder/.
- Building group library
- Select the component library in which the component will be stored. If you have previously created a customer-specific or building-specific building group library, it is the default. If necessary,you can change the building group library by clicking
. Select the library in the browser. You can select a customer-specific building group library or a building-specific building group library if a building is active. - You can also create a new library based on an existing library. The database of the new library will have a similar structure and will use the same format files as the existing library. Create a new library as follows:
- In the left browser pane, select one of the following:
- Custom libraries - Customer-specific libraries.
- Building libraries - Building-specific libraries. Available when the building is active. The library is only available in the building in question.
- In the right-hand browser pane, right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
- Select Create new library.
The Create a New Library dialog box opens.
- Click Select, and select the library to base the new library on. The browser opens.
- In the left browser pane, select one of the following main folders:
- System libraries - System’s standard libraries.
- Custom libraries - Customer-specific libraries.
- Building libraries - Building-specific libraries. Available when the building is active.
- Double-click the desired library. A new library is created based on the selected library.
- Type a description of the new library in the text field.
- Confirm by clicking OK. The program will create a new folder for the library in the ../custom/complibs folder. The database defining the structure of the library and the related files are saved in the folder.
- You can edit the description of the library by selecting the library in the right-hand browser pane, and then Edit description from the right-click menu.
- Select the library you created by double-clicking it in the right-hand browser pane.
- Input style of the group
- Determines how a component group will be added into a drawing or a model. Select one of the following:
- Standard - The component group is added just like any other building component.
- Opening combination - A combination of openings may also include trims. When you add the opening combination, first select a wall. The cursor will be locked to move in the direction of the wall.
- Components outside of wall - When you add the component, first select a wall. The cursor will be locked to move on the outside of the wall.
- Components inside of wall - When you add the component, first select a wall. The cursor will be locked to move on the inside of the wall.
- Electrical component - A building group formed of electrical boxes or the mounting box of an electrical box and electrical pipe. When you add the electrical component, first select a wall. The cursor will be locked to move in the direction of the wall.
- Connecting component - You can create a building group of frame parts and building components that you have added to a structure, and then connect the group to another similar structure. When you add a building group, the program attempts to form all joints to the surrounding parts that existed in the group at the time it was saved.
When you select the building component adding function the next time, the program will update the browser, and you can select the component from the folder defined in the Path in browser field.
