Framing Tools: Frame - Floor or Ceiling
Framer
Tool for the framing layer (FRAME, FRAMING) of a floor or roof, or a floor or roof panel. Select Tool from the list. If necessary, edit the tool parameters in the dialog box. The parameters define the cross sections, spacing, and other necessary values of the parts.
The thickness of a layer changes according to the selected cross section. The thickness only changes in the structure model, not in the architectural model.
Frame: Gen
- Spacing
- Select the part spacing from the list or type the desired value in the text field.
- Panel label
- You can enter a prefix for the panel label in the text field. When you create floor or roof panels, you can enable the prefix by selecting the property Use label from framing tool in the "Panel build" dialog box . If the field is empty, the property is not available, and the label is determined by the Numbering field in the "Panel build" dialog box.
- Cross sections
- Select the cross sections for the parts. If a cross section field is empty, a part will not be added.

- Joist detail
- Select the type of the frame part: single or double joist. The default (DEFAULT) is the single joist. Click the Sel button, and select a detail from a drawing window by clicking the hot spot.
- Blocking detail
- You can add a blocking line perpendicular to the joists. Select the type of the blocking line: continuous blocking (JOIST) or blocking (BLOCK). Click the Sel button, and select a detail from a drawing window by clicking the hot spot. From the Spacing list, select the spacing between the lines in millimeters or select one of the following options:
- 1/2 - One line halfway in the direction of the joists.
- 1/3 - Two lines at third-points in the direction of the joists.
- 1/4 - Three lines at quarter-points in the direction of the joists.
- Default hanger code
- Click the Sel button, and select the default hanger code from the library.
Direction and alignment
- Rotate
- Defines the rotation angle by which the direction of the sub frame will be rotated in relation to the main frame layer. Select 0, 90, 180 or 270 from the list.
- Align
- Defines how the parts are to be spaced. Select from the list:
- Offset
- Defines an additional offset, when you select the Left or Right option for aligning. A positive value moves towards the frame area, a negative value away from the area.
Insulation
- Insulation
- Select this check box, when you want to add insulation to a frame layer. Select the insulation from the insulation library with the Select button.
- Thickness
- The thickness of the insulation is determined by the chosen insulation material or the thickness of the frame layer. If necessary, you can edit the value in the field.
- Insulation to profile web
- If the frame consists of I-beam structures, select whether to add the insulation to the profile web or not:
