Protect a Panel
Framer
When you add parts to a structure, the parts are added or regenerated to all the layers of the structure for which a framing tool has been defined. Changes made to the parts of the layer will be lost when the parts are regenerated. When the structure is a wall, floor, or roof panel, you can prevent the regeneration of parts in all layers by protecting the panel.
- Select one or more panels in the floor plan, In the model, or in the object tree.
- Select Panel | Framing |
Protect panel.
When you select one or more protected panels, the functions Generate parts and Remove parts are not available on the ribbon. If both protected and unprotected panels are selected, the functions are available. When you add or remove parts, you receive a message about the protected structures. Select one of the following:
- Continue - Parts of the protected panel will not be generated or removed. Parts previously added to the panel remain the same.
- Remove part protection - The panel protection is removed and the parts are added or removed.
- Cancel - Cancel the function.
Remove the panel protection as follows:
- Select one or more panels in the floor plan, In the model, or in the object tree.
- Clear the check box Panel | Framing |
Protect panel.
- You can protect parts of one or more layers by using the function Protect Parts of a Layer.
- Protecting a panel does not prevent the editing or the removal of individual parts.
- You can set a single part of a layer to be non-updateable, see Define a Non-updateable Part.
