Edit the Space Properties
Edit the properties of a space as follows:
- Select the space object in the drawing or model.
- Do either of the following:

Edit. - Select
Properties from the right-click menu.
The Space Properties dialog box opens.

- Edit the space properties in the dialog box. The properties displayed in the dialog box are specified in the space library. For example, the properties in the system library:
- Name - Appears in the object tree. Depending on the selected label, appears in the label in the floor plan.
- Description - Description of the space. Depending on the selected label, appears in the label in the floor plan.
- Type - The object type. The object type is exported to the XML transfer file (components.xml). In the system library, the following object types are defined for spaces:
- Building area (S_BUILDING_AREA)
- Apartment (S_APARTMENT)
- Building volume (S_BUILDING_VOLUME)
- Undefined (UNDEFINED)
- External - Can get a value of 0 (No) or 1 (Yes).
- Handicap accessible - Can get a value of 0 (No) or 1 (Yes).
- Publicly accessible - Can get a value of 0 (No) or 1 (Yes).
- Occupancy type - Value can be a string.
- Occupancy number - Value can be an integer.
- PROREG save field - Name of the field in the PROREG database to which the area specified by the space object is added. Read more in the instructions Calculate the Building Area.
- Area calculation set - The area set defined in the system settings whose calculation rules are applied to the space object.
- Confirm by clicking OK.
Add your own properties
If necessary, you can add properties you define yourself for a space. You can also add these properties to a user-defined IFC property set.
- Select the space object in the drawing or model.
- Do either of the following:
- Select Space | Properties |
Edit. - Select
Properties from the right-click menu.
The Space Properties dialog box opens.
- Select Space | Properties |
- Do either of the following:
- Add a single property by selecting Add property from the right-click menu, and complete the property name and value.
- You can copy a set of properties and their values from an Excel table and paste them into the dialog box by selecting Paste properties from the right-click menu. In the Excel table, the properties and values must be in their own columns. You can copy and paste just the property column, or both the property and value columns.
- Confirm by clicking OK.
You can delete the property you have added yourself as follows:
- Select the property in the dialog box list.
- Select Delete property from the right-click menu.
Note: You can only delete features that you have defined yourself. Properties defined in the library cannot be deleted.
Copy properties
You can copy the properties of an existing space as follows:
- Click
Copy properties. - Select the space the properties of which are copied.
Note: The drawing properties of the border line as well as color and transparency of the space object in the model are also copied.
