Copy an Element in the Same Drawing/Model

Copy the selected elements to a new location within the same drawing by selecting the Copy function. Copy and locate the elements as follows:

  1. Select one or more elements.
  2. Select the context-sensitive menu function Copy.
  3. Select a reference point.
  4. A dashed line is drawn from the reference point when the cursor is close to vertical or horizontal or at a 45-degree angle. The cursor will then change into a symbol indicating that you can constrain the cursor in the direction in question.
    • Lock the cursor in the desired direction by clicking the left mouse button.
    • You can prevent the direction constraint by pressing the Alt key when clicking the location.
  5. Click a location for the element.
  6. Continue as follows:
    • Before clicking the location, you can select auxiliary functions from the additional menu, for example, rotate the element or change its height.

    • You can rotate the element in the XY plane also by using keyboard commands.
    • Confirm the dimension position selecting Confirm.

Note

  • Texts and macro labels associatively added to the elements are copied with the selected elements when you use the Associative Elements Follow function.
