Selection Filter Dialog Box

All element types used in the drawing have been collected into a Selection Filter dialog box. In the dialog box you can either select only filtering element types, or in addition you can also select the properties of the filtering element type.

Dialog Box Options

Element types
Select the element types in the list box of the dialog box in one of the following ways:
  • Select one element type by clicking the left mouse button.
  • Select several element types by holding down Ctrl and clicking with the left mouse button.
  • Select all element types on the list by clicking the All button or by pressing Ctrl+A.
Filtering by properties
In addition, you can limit the elements to be selected by properties, when you select one or more of the following basic geometry element types in the list box:
  • Lines
  • Texts
  • Dimensions
  • Hatches
  • Symbols
  • Connection Lines
  • Item ids
  • Groups
Click the button at the top right corner of the dialog box to expand the dialog box and to be able to select the filtering properties. The filtering properties are determined by the element types you have selected in the list box at the left side of the dialog box. The properties, which are common to the selected element types, can be selected at the right side of the dialog box. The table below presents the filtering properties according to the element types.

You can filter elements by one or more properties. Select the value of the filtering property from the drop-down lists, or select the properties of an existing element with the Select button.
Filter by Color
Point
Select the values of the filtering properties by clicking an element with the desired properties in the drawing. The properties of the selected element will be refreshed in the dialog box. You can still edit the values by selecting a new value from the drop-down lists or by clearing a value from a text field.
Clear
Clear all the text fields.
When you want to filter elements only by the element type, click the button in the dialog box to extract the filtering properties. Next time you use the filtering properties, they will have the last selected values.
