Product Structure

The product structure contains information about the product, detailing the assembly parts, ready-made components, purchased parts, and non-modeled items the product is composed of. The codes and structures of parts and components are maintained by a system that this software utilizes. The system's item data is copied to this software, where the desired codes and structures can be defined for parts and components. Create an assembly and print its parts list, which is then transferred into a product structure. Product structures created with this software can, for example, be transferred to the company's ERP system.

Begin the creation of a product database by connecting material data to a part. If necessary, you can create an item for the part. Either connect existing item data to ready-made components and purchased components, or create a new item and connect it to them. An assembly can also contain non-modeled parts, such as glue, paint etc. You can select the data from a categorized database list.

The information in the product structure will be generated automatically on the assembly, parts data, components, purchased components and non-modeled parts.. Create a new item from the assembly, and transfer the parts list data to the Product Database. The product structure of the product is now complete.

The product structures can be used to create parts lists. The databases make it possible to create rolled-out parts lists, which are an easy way to display substructures. The parts lists can be printed on a drawing sheet or exported to other applications for further processing.

Product structure contents

A product structure consists of a item and the item structure data. The product structure is managed with databases that can be tailored to meet the user's needs. A product structure consists of the following information:

  • Item data - A item can be a part, material, an assembly, a component, or extra parts, such as glue, paint, fixings, instructions, etc.
  • Item structure data - The material data of a part is presented in the item structure data. Of an assembly, the part models, ready-made components, purchased parts and extra parts items.

The assembly is formed by a U piece, a T piece, an L piece, and a purchased part, a hexagonal screw. Different part properties have been defined, such as label, description and material, and the drawings have also been created. The properties of the extra part and purchased part have been determined from the component database. The product structure has data about the item: Assembly. The assembly structure data is: U piece, T piece, L piece, and hexagonal screw.
