Example: Parametric Sketch
The geometry of the part's sketch has the following dimension constraints: the dimension constraint has a variable.
The constraint definitions are as follows:
- Distance constraint: Value = 100, Formula = Width
- Distance constraint: Value = 60, Formula = Width-40
- Distance constraint: Value = 50, Formula = 0.5*Width
The geometry of the sketch can be modified by defining a new value for the Width variable. The other distance constraints are solved based on the calculations entered in the Formula fields.
The editing of the sketch geometry is done by the context-sensitive function Dimension Table, either in sketching mode or the ketch-based feature, for example after Extruded Boss. In sketching mode, change the value of the Width variable to 120. The geometry of the sketch is as follows:
