Beveling
With this function, beveling is added into the intersection point of two lines or their extensions. The lines to be beveled are polylines that have been modeled on the same layer, but they need not intersect. Desired line properties can be defined for the beveled line section.
The line bevel is defined before selecting the lines to be beveled. Beveling is formed either by trimming or cutting both of the selected lines. A new bevel can also be defined for previously beveled lines by using the Define new bevel function in the auxiliary menu.
- Select Drafting | Line Tools | Bevel.
- Enter the bevel value.
- Change the line properties, if necessary.
- Click the lines to be beveled.
A new bevel is added to previously beveled lines.
Note
- The lines to be beveled cannot be border lines of a single surface or surface of a volume. This function can only be used with straight polylines that have been modeled on the same layer.
Define new bevel value
With this function, a new bevel value is selected. The value is typed in a text box. When beveling lines, the new bevel value is selected before selecting the lines to be beveled. When beveling edges, the new bevel value is selected before selecting the edges to be beveled.
