Add a Part from a File

You can add a part model or an assembly (.vxm) to a building model directly from a file:

1. Select Modeling | Drafting | Advanced Modeling G4 Part From File. The Open dialog box opens.
2. Select the folder from the Look in list.
3. Select a file in the folder.
4. Click the Open button.
5. If necessary, select a configuration.
6. If necessary, rotate the part and/or change its reference point.
   • Rotating a Part Around the X, Y or Z Axes
   • Changing the Alignment Point
   • Rotating a Part in Relation to a Surface
   • Selecting a Point on a Surface
7. Select a location for the part.
8. Do one of the following:
   • Select the next location for the part, if you are adding the same part more than once.
   • Accept the added part with the Confirm function.
9. Do one of the following:
   • Select a new file to be added.
   • Finish using the function by pressing the Esc key.

Note

• The model can be a furniture group designed with Vertex InD application, for example.
• You can add a part from the model archive by using the Add Part from Model Archive function.
