Constraints in Options
Option System
You should take the following things into consideration when adding constraints to an option:
- Solving options activates the dimension constraints, but does not remove overlapping constraints. For example, the bay window roof may have an overhang constraint, which has already been defined for the main roof. In this case, an overdefined model is resulted in option solving. The constraint can be used to position the roof, but it should be removed before solving the options.
- Constraints of roof accessories may be lost when the roofs are merged in option solving.
- An option may have constraints to components outside the option. The non-active options are highlighted in grey in the list of the Constraints of Object dialog box. However, you should consider how to ensure controlling the model when adding constraints. For example, a dimension constraint between two options may cause a too complicated model.
