Open a Drawing-model Pair

When you open a project, you can select the drawing-model pair to be activated first from a button menu. Alternatively, you can define a drawing-model pair to be automatically activated without a need for separate selection, see Automatically Activated Drawing-model Pair. The drawing file of the drawing-model pair is opened in the drawing window and the model file in the model window.

You can change the active drawing-model pair while you are working by doing any of the following:

Select from a button menu

1. Do either of the following:
   • Click the button in then upper left corner of the working window:

     

   • Press F4.
2. Select which drawing-model pair to open from the menu.

Switch to architectural/framing model

Switch to the matching architectural or framing pair of the active drawing-model pair by clicking the button at the top left corner of the working window.

The architectural design drawing-model pair is active (model file MODEL.vxm). Switch to the framing drawing-model pair by clicking the button:

The framing drawing-model pair is active (model file FRAMING.vxm). Switch to the architectural design drawing-model pair by clicking the button:

Select from project document browser

1. Save the project. The document browser is updated.
2. Open a branch of the document browser by clicking the plus sign (+) next to a title or by double-clicking a title. You can find the drawing-model pairs of the project under following titles:
   • Architectural Design
   • Structural Design
3. Open a drawing-model pair by double-clicking the name of the drawing file, for example 2nd floor wall layout.

Click an object

1. Select an object belonging to the drawing-model pair you want to activate in the model window.
2. Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
3. Select Advanced > Switch to This Drawing-Model Pair.
