Setup File user/SETUP

The SETUP file is saved in the ../user folder. The file defines the software's operating environment and properties affecting the user interface. You can edit the software properties by using the keywords in the file. Always remember to make a backup copy of the setup file before starting to edit it.

  1. Open the following file:
    • In a single installation /vxbd/user/SETUP.
    • In a network server installation for all users /vxbd_srv/user/SETUP.ALL.
    • In a network server installation for a certain computer /vxbd_srv/user/SETUP.COMPUTERNAME.
  2. Edit the file, for example in Notepad.
  3. Save the file.
  4. Restart Vertex.
Note:
  • Other system settings are defined by keywords which you can edit with the > Preferences > Edit function.
  • Settings for file conversions and material collection are defined in the setup files located in the system's setup folder. Depending on the software delivery, the setup folder is located either in the system or custom directory.
