Predefined Table Templates

You can add a table using an existing table template. You can define table templates in a text file using keywords.

They will then be available for use when adding tables. Another way of using table templates is by saving a table in the Symbol Library and adding it to a drawing as a symbol.

Table template file

Table templates are defined in a settings file using keywords that are documented in the file.

A sample template file is included in the software delivery The file can be found in the Vertex folder Shared/texts/TABLETEMPLATES.

The table template options defined in this file are displayed when tables are added. Before editing the file, copy file to the Shared/texts folder.

You can add your own table templates to the file using keyword definitions. A table template can contain empty cells or predefined texts. You must not change the name of the file.

Saving a table template to symbol library

You can save a table in a drawing including its formatting and texts to the Symbol Library, enabling its use in other drawings. A table template can contain empty cells or predefined texts. Save the table by selecting Save to Symbol Library and select Normal Symbol as the symbol type.

The software includes a sample table template in the Symbol Library folder Shared/Tables. The table is added to drawing as a group from the Symbol Library.
