Copy a Detail as a New Detail

You can edit the drawing file of a detail in the building or custom folder and save it as a new detail in the detail archive of the building folder. You can select the detail to be edited either from the floor plan drawing of the open building or from the detail archive. If you choose to edit a detail in the custom folder detail archive, the program will copy the detail's drawing file to the detail archive with the same name in the building folder. The original detail in the custom folder detail archive will remain unchanged.

1. Select Modeling | Drafting | Details Copy Detail.
2. Do either of the following:
   • Select the detail in the floor plan
   • Click the Archive button above the status bar to select the detail in the dialog box.
3. Edit the detail.

4. Close the drawing window by clicking the Close button .
5. Edit the detail data:
   • Type a new Detail label and File name.
   • If necessary, edit the other data.
