Set a Building Component as Part of a Wall

You can set a building component as a part of a wall, or set a parent for the component. When you move the wall, the connected building component moves with it. If you have already defined a parent for the component, you can change it, or you can disconnect the component from its parent.
Set a Building Component as Part of a Wall:
- Select a component.
- Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
- Select Set Building Component as Part of Wall.
- Select the wall to which the component is to be connected.
- Confirm the connection by selecting Yes in a message box.
Set the Building Component as Part of Another Wall, or Change the Component's Parent:
- Select a component that is set as a part of a wall.
- Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
- Select Set Building Component as Part of Wall.
- Select Change in the message box.
- Select a new wall, to which the component is connected.
- Confirm the connection by selecting Yes in a message box.
Disconnect a Building Component From a Wall:
- Select a component that is set as a part of a wall.
- Right-click to open the context-sensitive menu.
- Select Set Building Component as Part of Wall.
- Select Disconnect in the message box.
Note:
- Windows and doors are automatically connected to the wall on which they are added. A parent is not needed to be set for them.
- With this function, also a building component assembly can be connected to a wall. The assembly is selected by clicking one of the assembly components.
